The Chief Power Engineering Officer is a key executive leadership role responsible for the overall strategic direction, planning, design, and reliable operation of the Cooperative's electrical system, while simultaneously identifying, developing, and implementing innovative technologies and business models to ensure long-term competitiveness and value for our members. NOTICE OF JOB OPENING FOR ENGINEERING INTERN
The San Luis Valley Rural Electric Cooperative is seeking an Engineering Intern to support the Engineering and Operations teams of the electric cooperative with technical analysis, system planning, project research and follow-up and documentation. This internship provides hands-on exposure to electric distribution systems, utility operations and cooperative principles in a real-world utility environment. Projects and assignments will be somewhat tailored to individual interests. Work hours are Monday–Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a summertime intern position. Negotiable work period to begin mid-May through mid-August depending on school schedule. Engineering students who have completed at least their sophomore year are encouraged to apply. NOTICE OF JOB OPENING FOR GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS) INTERN
The San Luis Valley Rural Electric Cooperative is seeking a GIS Intern to support the cooperative’s Geographic Information System (GIS) by assisting with mapping, data management, and spatial analysis related to electric distribution and fiber optic distribution assets. This position is ideal for a college student interested in GIS, geography, engineering support or utility operations. Assignments can be tailored somewhat to the areas of interest of the individual.
