NOTICE OF JOB OPENING FOR SYSTEM OPERATOR
San Luis Valley REC currently has an open position for a System Operator. Work hours are Monday – Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., 40 hours/week plus additional time as duties require. Duties are primarily performed indoors, and rotational standby coverage is required. Responsible for two-way radio communications with field personnel, prepares and executes electric system switching orders, extensive use of SCADA, real time meter data, vehicle tracking, outage management software and mapping system. Education requirements: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) associate’s degree, or journeyman lineman certification, or additional testing will be required as well as pre-employment drug screening and background check.
